Explanation to Part III

SECTION A STATEMENT

2. Never have(has) + 主語 + 過去分詞 + ...

否定詞(半否定詞),如 never, not, little, hardly, few, seldom, scarcely, barely等,及否定詞短語如no sooner, under no circumstances, on no account 等常放句首,進行強調,語序則要倒裝。

短語be (get) used to (doing) sth = be accustomed to (doing) sth: 一直習慣于
used to do...: 過去經常做,曾經

beyond question = without question = past question = out of question:

out of the question:
be open to question:
call into question: 對...
make no question of (about): 對...

turn out (to be): 原來是,最后證明是

as long as = so long as = if = on condition that: 只要,假如
go picnicking = go for a picnic: 去野餐

at the request of sb = at sb’s request:

two more compositions 也可以說two compositions more,其中的 more意思是“另外的,附加的”

be attributed to或 attribute ... to: 歸咎于, 把...

SECTION B CONVERSATION

can / could (not) + have done:

above all = most important of all, especially:

beat around the bush = beat about the bush:

... will do: ...

SECTION C NEWS BROADCAST

原文中“irritated(激怒, 惱火)”與A最接近。

21. “do all except (but) ...”

原文中 "three weeks before the deadline(離最后限期還有三周)"是理解本題的關鍵。答案為A。
